Driver Boost helped my slow computer immensely. It found missing and corrupt drivers and replaced them with the most current files. Now my PC runs as fast as it did when I first bought it. I notice that I can also use my headset, microphone, speakers, and printer with no problem.
My Favorite Features
I like the way it looks overall. The menu is easy to read, and it has four sections. I usually use the first section most often, because it’s what has the scan button on it. I also use the download history mostly to just check what I just downloaded.
Another one of my favorite features of Driver boost is that it tells me exactly how many drivers are current, outdated, or non-existent. The pie chart is helpful as well because it gives me a clear view of the bigger picture—telling me exactly what percentage of my computer is running right. Now I know exactly how much work it’s going to take to fix my PC.
What Else I Like
I don’t need to read a long collection of tutorials before understanding how to use Driver boost. The prompts during the scan, download, and install process tell me everything. I also like how it identifies my computer as exactly the make and model that it is, because it offers me assurance. The Driver boost software seems to have an intelligence of its own. I wonder how exactly it knows what devices I have plugged into it. I also wonder how it can find drivers so fast when I took hours sifting through countless useless driver downloads before this. This software finds them straight from the manufacturer and I don’t have to pay for the updates for any of the software that runs my PC or USB equipment.
It’s also nice that I can tailor my software settings to customize each scan. Another benefit is the choice of whether or not I want to update. This software also assists with System Restore, which is convenient for me.
The Most Important Driver boost Accomplishment
For quite a several days I didn’t have sound. I couldn’t understand why. That’s one of the reasons I decided to buy Driver boost in the first place. It turns out that my video card drive needed updates. This software helped me install a video card driver almost instantly. That was a relief because I had no idea what I was going to do.
It took a couple of times of running Driver Boost to speed up my slow computer. However, I found out I didn’t even have the latest version of Java on my PC. Other essential software necessary for running video productions also was missing. I also wondered what else to do after running Driver boost a couple of times and it was still running slow. However, I later learned another reason for my slow computer. It had to do with the fact that I had too many registry errors. Therefore, I also downloaded PC Health Boost. Now I use that to clean up PC errors before I even install new drivers.
